In this part of the guide, we will count the support reactions for different types of beams.

For example, we have 3 beams consisting of various supporting elements and types of forces acting in different places on the beam. On the test or exam you can get a completely different distribution of forces or supports, but the calculation method is the same.

All three beams are statically determinate and geometrically immutable.

**Simply supported beam**

Straight beam supported on the left side with articulated joint and right articulated sliding. The total length of the beam is 11 meters. Two concentrated forces work on it.

**Cantilever beam**

Straight beam on the left side fixed by a bracket, on which the distributed force and the horizontal concentrated force are acting. The total length of the beam is 10 meters.
